The General Store introduces a new concept in retailing - we put your name and products in our stores, in Canada’s busy malls without you having to be there.

The General Store has built a strong multi-retailer base in Canada over the past few years. Our branding is now diversified as we have added two new store front concepts: amaze - a typically smaller format gift and craft store as well as FANS - our newest sports and movie memorabilia concept. We invite you (retailers, crafters, manufacturers, and importers of unique and interesting gift or home decor products) to join us in the growing demand for this imaginative and highly successful style of retailing.

A unique concept
A huge retail market for unique gifts, arts and crafts exists in the large city malls. The question is, how to tap into that business without the usual hassles or high costs. This is an opportunity to take advantage of selling your products in some very high traffic areas and greatly improve your sales year round, without the usual commitments like time, overhead, or staffing.

The General Store fills this need by bringing together over 100 unique gift stores under one name right inside the malls. The store is filled with dozens of interesting boutiques, consisting of retailers, crafters, importers and wholesalers offering unique products, crafts, collectibles and interesting gifts. Your name and goods will be displayed in an upscale shop to thousands of consumers seven days a week.

Maintain your identity
We believe that it is important to maintain the identity of the individual retailer. Each display area will feature your products as well as the name of your store, your brochures, catalogues or business cards if available.

Selling made simple
The General Store concept simplifies retailing. Services we provide include; marketing and advertising, selling, inventory control, restocking, staffing, storage, and in-store security, merchandising and fixtures.
Your responsibility is to ensure that all goods are properly labeled, priced and coded before you display and also that we have enough product - we do all the rest. If distance is a concern we will restock or even set up your display, what could be simpler?

Only pay for the display you need
Many versatile display alternatives are available to choose from, giving you the flexibility to customize your area within your budget. All units include moveable shelving and fixtures to further your options for improved product visibility. Power is available to most display areas if requested.

We shuttle your product from any of our stores, to any of our stores across Canada that you have a contract to lease space - free of charge!

Increased profitability with low fixed costs
Monthly costs are fixed by sharing overhead and expenses with the other Retailers.
Costs include a monthly fee to cover space leased, as well as a commission of your sales.

Automated reporting and accounting
Your personal General Store account is automatically credited with your sale, and your inventory updated through a specific code on all your products. We will deposit your total sales dollars (less commission) directly into your bank account monthly. You will also receive an itemized sales report, so you will always know what is moving and what isn’t and can re-order accordingly. Daily sales can also be obtained via the internet.
